Paula Rios

Paula Rios has extensive work experience in the insurance industry. Paula started their career as a Claims Manager and later became a Legal Advisor at Sociedade Portuguesa de Seguros. Paula then worked as a Responsible for a SME Risks Underwriting Department at Tranquilidade, where they were involved in strategic projects and product development. After that, they served as the Claims Managing Director at ICI - Império Comércio e Indústria Insurance Company (BCP Group). Subsequently, they held various positions at APS - Associação Portuguesa de Seguradores, including Chairman of the Technical Liability Committee and Teacher. Paula also worked at CEA - Comité Européen des Assurances, representing the Portuguese Insurers' Association in various committees and working groups related to technical liability. Paula Rios further advanced their career at Liberty Seguros, where they served as the Chief Underwriting Officer for Non-Life. Their most recent role was at MDS Group, where they had a wide range of responsibilities as Editor in Chief of FULLCOVER magazine, Executive Director of HighDome pcc (a protected cell company of MDS Group), and Chief Communication Officer. Paula was also involved in business development, the creation of a Claims Department, and the management of a captive reinsurance company. Additionally, Paula organized conferences and seminars and served as CEO of MLearning (a knowledge management company) and CEO of HighDome pcc.

Paula Rios completed their Bachelor's degree in Law at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa from 1979 to 1985. Later, in 2003, they pursued a post-graduation course in Strategic Management, Strategic Marketing, and Managing Change at the same institution.
