Sean Wiese

Sean Wiese has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. Sean most recently held the position of Director of Cybersecurity Operations at MDU Resources Group, Inc. since April 2020. Before that, they worked at the North Dakota Information Technology Department (ITD), where they served as the Cyber Operations Lead from November 2019 to April 2020 and as the Chief Information Security Officer & Director from March 2016 to November 2019. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Information Security Engineer at Kadrmas Lee & Jackson from September 2015 to April 2016. Sean also served as an Information Security Officer at NISC from December 2005 to September 2015 and as an Information Security Analyst at the North Dakota Information Technology Department (ITD) from January 2002 to December 2005. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Information Technology Manager at the North Dakota Newspaper Association from 1998 to 2002.

Sean Wiese earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Minnesota State University Moorhead from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, they completed an Associate degree in Computer Information Systems at North Dakota State College of Science from 1990 to 1992. In addition to their education history, Sean Wiese has obtained certifications such as CRISC from ISACA in 2011 and CISSP from (ISC)² in 2004.
