Juliana Velez

Juliana Velez has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Juliana started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at MIT, where they focused on data center cooling efficiency. Juliana then worked as an Engineering Intern at GE, where they created computer models and performed stress calculations.

After that, they joined the Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya as a Student Investigator, where they investigated methods to reduce energy consumption in IT equipment and modeled building energy use. Juliana then interned as an Engineering Intern at Skanska, gaining experience in the engineering field.

Juliana then joined EnerNOC as an Energy Engineer Intern, where they performed energy audits, energy analysis calculations, and developed pre-functional and functional tests for building commissioning and retro-commissioning. Juliana continued their work at EnerNOC as an Energy Engineer, expanding their role and responsibilities in energy efficiency.

In 2018, Juliana joined Enel X as an Energy Engineer, focusing on developing energy efficiency strategies for commercial and institutional buildings and assisting in the development and delivery of energy analysis software.

Juliana later transitioned to Hatch Data, where they held two roles. First, they worked as an Analytics Developer, developing and improving algorithms to uncover value from customer data and performing technical data-related tasks to ensure smooth platform operation. Juliana then advanced to the position of Senior Software Engineer, continuing their work on algorithm development and customer support tasks.

Most recently, Juliana has joined Measurabl as a Software Engineer II, leveraging their previous software engineering expertise to contribute to the company's goals and projects.

Juliana Velez received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Juliana then pursued further education at Stanford University, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2012 to 2014. In addition to their degrees, Juliana Velez obtained a certification as a Professional Engineer from the NCEES in December 2016.
