Jim Ponzo

Jim Ponzo is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the auto finance industry. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Mechanics Bank Auto Finance since March 2011, Jim leads operations for the Indirect auto business, overseeing diverse functions such as Technology, Sales, Credit, Funding, and Collections. Previously, Jim held positions including VP Risk Management at Westlake Financial Services and AVP Collections Strategy at ACC Consumer Finance, where responsibilities included managing sub-prime auto loan portfolios and enhancing collection processes. Earlier roles at Hyundai Motor Finance Company and WFS Financial involved monitoring credit strategies and conducting risk analyses. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of La Verne.
