Olga "Dr.O" Ivanova has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of additive manufacturing (AM). Olga "Dr.O" began their career as a Postdoctoral Associate at Virginia Tech in 2011, where they focused on developing nanocomposites for AM. During this time, they conducted research and set up a laboratory space for AM experimentation.
From 2013 to 2018, Olga worked at Lynntech, Inc. as a Research Scientist. Olga "Dr.O" successfully established and grew an AM/3DP research program with a focus on defense applications, primarily through SBIR/STTR funding. Olga "Dr.O" served as a Principal Investigator and project manager on numerous projects, managing the onboarding, training, and evaluation of personnel.
In 2018, Olga joined Universal Technology Company, LLC as the Chief Applications Scientist - Additive Manufacturing. In this role, they led a portfolio of research projects and product development efforts in metal, polymer, composites, and multi-material AM. Olga "Dr.O" served as a Principal Investigator on externally and internally funded R&D projects, interfaced with sponsors and customers, and played a key role in generating a commercialization strategy for developed technologies.
In 2020, Olga moved to Open Additive, LLC as the Applications Lead and Services Manager. Olga "Dr.O" led multiple R&D projects sponsored by the Department of Defense and Industrial partners, securing external funding for R&D efforts. Their responsibilities also included managing the SBIR/STTR, RIF, and America Makes programs.
