Chris Hunter

Chris Hunter, CPSI, has over 24 years of experience in park operations and recreation management. Currently serving as the Superintendent of Park Operations for Mecklenburg County since August 1999, Chris has held various roles including Recreation Specialist, Facility Manager, and Regional Manager. Prior experience includes working as the Intramural and Varsity Sports Coordinator in the United States Air Force from June 1995 to May 1999. Chris holds a degree in Sport Management, Sport and Fitness Administration/Management from Western Carolina University and completed the NRPA Directors School in 2018. An Associate of Arts degree was earned from Brevard College, with a high school diploma awarded from Union High School.
