David Gieser

David Gieser, AIA, is an accomplished design and construction project management professional with extensive experience in facilities construction and design. Currently serving as the Design and Construction Project Management Director for Mecklenburg County since June 2015, Gieser has also held the role of Director of Inspections. Prior to this, Gieser was a Principal at Perkins + Will from September 2000 to May 2015, and a Senior Project Manager at Clark Patterson Lee, overseeing educational and commercial projects. Earlier career roles include Construction Services Manager at Stantec and Intern Architect/Project Manager at Deryck Muehlhauser Architects, focusing on aviation projects. Gieser holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Southern Polytechnic State University and has a background in architecture education from North Carolina State University.
