Michael J. Moley

Michael J. Moley, is a respected and seasoned HR executive who throughout his career led large HR functions in several organizations across multiple industries with both regional and global focus. Mike has extensive experience leading organizational strategy and transformations, driving large scale growth, and elevating organizational performance through innovative talent solutions. Mike is the President of The Moley Group, a consulting firm that provides strategic human resources and strategic talent consultation, specializing in Board governance, succession planning, organizational assessments and transformations, benefit and total rewards optimization, and strategic guidance on other key HR and talent services.

Most recently, Mike was the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer at Catholic Health. Catholic Health is a regional health care system comprised of acute care hospitals, continuing care facilities, primary care centers, home care operations, laboratory, diagnostic testing and imaging, rehabilitation institutions employing over 9,500 associates and revenues in excess of $1.1 billion. As a Senior Officer, Mike had responsibility for all Human Resource functions to include compensation, training and organizational development, employee and labor relations, recruitment and retention, pension and welfare benefits, workers’ compensation, safety, disability management, and employee health. Mike was instrumental in the development and marketing of “First Choice” a tiered healthcare benefit plan offered to Catholic Health associates and marketed to employers throughout WNY. As Chief Human Resources Officer, he served on various Committees of the Catholic Health Board of Directors including the Finance & Operations Committee, Executive Compensation Committee and Chaired the Benefit Plan Committee of the Board. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors of Catholic Medical Partners an Independent Physician Practice Association of over 1,000 physicians.

Prior to joining Catholic Health, Mike was Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for the Dunlop Tire Corporation and Goodyear Dunlop Tires of North America having contributed 20 years of service prior to the sale of the Corporation. In Mike’s role with Dunlop he was one of five members of the organization’s senior leadership team, and he led multiple functional areas including human resources, labor relations, legal, risk management, purchasing, information technology, and corporate administration. Mike was central to the turnaround of ailing manufacturing plants and subsidiaries and his work helped drive the growth of Dunlop from revenues of $800 million to over $1.2 billion annually. Mike served on the Board of Directors of two Dunlop subsidiaries, Utica Converters in Utica, New York and Allied Sales and Service in Orlando, Florida.

During his career Mike held positions at the United Mine Workers Health and Retirement Funds and the Travelers Insurance Companies and has throughout his career has led the collective bargaining negotiations of over fifty-eight (58) labor agreements.

Mike received his Bachelor of Arts degree at the State University of New York at Brockport and a Masters in Organizational Leadership at Medaille College, Buffalo, New York. He is an active member of various community organizations serving as a founding member of the Health Sciences Charter School in Buffalo, New York, and served on the Board of Trustees. He currently serves as Vice Chair of Medaille College’s Board of Trustees and is a member of the Executive Committee and the Committee on Trustees.
