Sharanya U.

Sharanya U. has extensive experience in the medical and research fields. Currently serving as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic at MedEx Medical Transport since March 2020, Sharanya also holds leadership roles as Co-Vice President of the UNC-CH Undergraduate Research Society and In-Kind Solicitations Chair for the Carolina For The Kids Foundation. Previous experience includes volunteering at UNC Memorial Hospital's Burns Center, working as a Teaching Assistant at Ramana Coaching Center, and roles as a Sales Associate at American Eagle Outfitters and a Summer Intern at the UNC Nutrition Research Institute's Voruganti Laboratory. Academic research has focused on uric acid levels, childhood obesity, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, with responsibilities that included DNA extractions, cell culture work, and sample collection. Sharanya is expected to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2021.
