Luís Pinto

Luís Pinto began their work experience in 2007 as a football referee for AF Leiria, a position they held until March 2014. In September 2009, they joined Instituto de Telecomunicações as a researcher, where they focused on research related to 3D video error concealment and MultiView encoding. Their work in this role led to publications in various technical conferences, and they remained with the Institute until February 2014. In 2014, they transitioned to Ericsson Television Limited as a Video Research Engineer, where they were responsible for developing pre-processing and encoding algorithms to improve picture quality and channel density in existing and upcoming products. Luís held this position until July 2018. Currently, Luís Pinto works at MediaKind Global, where they hold the role of Senior Video Compression Engineer. Since August 2018, they have been working on the development of pre-processing and encoding algorithms to enhance picture quality and channel density in their products.

Luís Pinto pursued their education in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Telecommunications. Luís obtained a Licentiate degree from the Polytechnic of Leiria, starting in 2008 and graduating in 2011. Luís then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree from the same institution, completing it from 2011 to 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Luís also participated in various training schools. Firstly, they attended the EU COST Training School on Plenoptic Capture, Processing, and Reconstruction at Mid Sweden University in 2013. Luís also participated in the COST Training School on 3D Media, User Experience, and Computational Architectures at the Tampere University of Technology in 2012.
