Ronan Fortune

Vice President, Engineering, Customer Services & Support at MediaKind

Ronan Fortune has a strong background in engineering and management roles. Ronan is currently working at MediaKind as the Vice President of Engineering & Support since February 2021. Prior to this, they were the Head of Engineering at MediaKind from September 2018 to February 2021.

Before joining MediaKind, Ronan worked at Ericsson starting from 2013. At Ericsson, they held several leadership positions, including Head of UK Engineering from March 2017 to August 2018, Head of Platforms, Media Processing from December 2015 to February 2017, and Head of Software Development, Compression Business Line from January 2013 to November 2015.

Prior to Ericsson, Ronan worked at Nokia from 2002 to 2012. During their time at Nokia, they held various roles, including Senior Manager from June 2011 to September 2012, Senior Programme Manager from June 2008 to June 2011, Project Manager from August 2005 to June 2008, and Senior Software Engineer from May 2002 to August 2005.

Ronan also gained experience at Amadeus as a Software Engineer from September 2001 to April 2002, Fujitsu as a Team Leader from June 2001 to August 2001, and Allied Management Systems as a Software Engineer from June 1999 to May 2001.

Ronan Fortune's education history begins in 1995 when they enrolled at Maynooth University for their undergraduate studies. Ronan pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Maths, and Physics, completing their studies in 1998.

In 1998, Ronan continued their education at Maynooth University, where they pursued a postgraduate degree in Applied Physics. This program, which focused on Applied Physics, Computing, and Electronics, lasted for one year and concluded in 1999.

After a gap in their education, Ronan decided to further enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of Technology Management. The MBA program allowed him to specialize in Technology Management, providing him with the necessary skills to succeed in the technology industry.

In 2012, they earned the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification from APMG-International. This certification demonstrates their proficiency in project management. More recently, in April 2021, Ronan obtained the Lean Technology Strategy: Building High-Performing Teams certification from LinkedIn, showcasing their knowledge in lean technology strategy and team management.
