Customer Support Specialist at MediaLab

Kate Pruitt has worked in the medical field since 2008. Kate began their career as a Medical Technologist at Randolph Hospital and then moved to Alamance Regional Medical Center in 2012, where they served as Section Lead Hematology/UA/Coag. In this role, they maintained operations in 3 areas as well as 2 offsite labs, and implemented new hematology analyzers while maintaining quality and oversight. In 2013, they took on the role of Lab Director at UNC Health Care, where they were responsible for all duties of a hospital department director, working the bench, administering Meditech LIS, overseeing implementation of EPIC, Orchard Harvest, Beaker, Haemonetics Safetrace TX, Medialab, and other system software rollouts, as well as maintaining operations, quality, staffing, process improvement, strategic planning, and budget. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Customer Support Specialist at MediaLab.

Kate Pruitt obtained an Associate's degree in Veterinary/Animal Health Technology/Technician and Veterinary Assistant from Central Carolina Community College. Kate then attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 1981 to 1985, earning a BS in Chemistry/Biology. After that, they obtained an MLT from Allegany College of Maryland in the field of Lab. In February 2022, Kate Pruitt obtained a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP-MLS) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
