Laurie Bjerklie M.A., MLS has a diverse work experience in the medical field. From 2006-2008, they worked as a Lead Lab Tech at Waseca Medical Center where they performed quality control and testing for hospital, clinic, outreach, and nursing home patients. Laurie also reviewed monthly documentations from the clinic laboratories and monitored Turn-Around-Times for all areas of laboratory and created dashboard. From 2008-2014, they worked at Rasmussen College as a Medical Laboratory Technician Program Coordinator where they developed course curriculum and assessments for all MLT residential programmatic classes and developed curriculum for implementation into online platform as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). Laurie also participated in NAACLS program review and site visit and obtained initial 5-year accreditation. From 2014-2021, they worked at DeVry University as CLS Program Director/Faculty Chair where they managed the entire Clinical Laboratory Science program to include curriculum, student advisement, clinical practicum oversight, and accreditation. Laurie also achieved re-accreditation of CLS program through NAACLS and redeveloped all CLS curriculum to improve quality of curriculum to meet accreditation and certification standards. Currently, they are working at Saint Louis University since 2021 as MLS Program Manager. In 2022, they will be joining MediaLab as a Content Developer.

Laurie Bjerklie obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist from the University of North Dakota. Laurie then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Saint Xavier University in 2012. Additionally, Laurie holds an MLS (ASCP) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
