Daniel Tavares

Daniel Tavares has had a long and successful career in the biotherapeutic engineering field. Daniel began their career in 2000 as the Head of Antibody Engineering at ImmunoGen, Inc., where they were responsible for cloning, sequencing, and humanization of therapeutic antibody candidates. In 2016, they joined Takeda Oncology as an Associate Director of Biotherapeutic Engineering. That same year, they also joined Abpro as the VP of Antibody Platforms, where they oversaw the lab operations for Abpro's antibody generations service and built new services such as antibody sequencing and humanization. In 2020, they moved to Mediar Therapeutics as the Sr Director of Antibody Engineering.

Daniel Tavares completed their Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1993. Daniel then went on to receive their Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Genetics from UMass Chan Medical School in 2000.
