Valerie Leisten

Valerie Leisten is an experienced project manager currently employed at Media Trust since December 2022. Prior to this role, Valerie served as the Acting Head of the Competence Center for Energy and Environment, Senior Project Manager, and Project Manager at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa from December 2016 to April 2021. Valerie also held the position of Deputy Director/Head of Communication and Social Media at LensShift, contributing to impactful narratives in the development and social impact sector. Earlier experience includes serving as a Project Associate at GROOTS Kenya, focusing on public land mapping and political representation for women, and as a Research Assistant at Pamoja Trust, where responsibilities included data analysis and project monitoring for informal settlements. Valerie holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Cultural and Social Anthropology and African Studies from the University of Cologne.
