Amie Saichania

Amie Saichania has a solid work experience in the field of design and UX research. Amie currently serves as the Lead Designer at Medibank since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Product Design at Redbubble from 2022 to 2023. Amie also held various roles at Xero from 2015 to 2022, including Design Director, Design Research Director, Design Research Manager, Design Research Lead, UX Researcher, and UX Designer. Amie gained experience as a Design Specialist at the Department of Internal Affairs (NZ) from 2014 to 2015 and as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Unitec Institute of Technology from 2011 to 2014. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance UX Designer between 2013 and 2014 and as an Assistant Draftsperson at Friendship Yachts in 2008.

Amie Saichania has a diverse education history. In 2023, they obtained a Micro Certification in Introduction to the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence from the University of Melbourne. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Design from Unitec | Te Pūkenga in 2012-2013. In 2010-2011, they completed a Certificate of Proficiency in databases and a Certificate of Proficiency in programming, both in the field of Computer Science, also from Unitec | Te Pūkenga. In 2009-2011, Amie obtained a Bachelor of Product and Furniture in Industrial and Product Design from Unitec | Te Pūkenga.
