Medic Mobile
Jane Katanu: a public health specialist with a passion for equitable access to quality health care for all. The backdrop for my zeal in community health is an inequitable health system in Kenya that favours rich and middle class people who live in urban areas. My driving force is to reduce the indisputable loss of lives of women and children living in rural underserved communities of Kenya. Thanks to Medic, we are bringing positive health impact to these communities by leveraging mobile technology to help tackle public health challenges that have contributed to poor health outcomes in disconnected communities. I have a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Nairobi and a Master's of Science in Public Health from Kenyatta University. Previously I worked for African Infectious Diseases Village Clinics (AIDVC) based at Mbirikani, Loitoktok, serving the underserved pastoralist Maasai community in Kenya. I love hiking and camping and playing with children.
