Mallory Kane

Mallory Kane is the Founder of the Medical Literacy Initiative, Columnist and Editor at Oncobites, and the Founder of Community Crisis Management & Support Group at The University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Additionally, Mallory serves as the Chief Executive at Hartford Health Education and is a Crisis Counselor at Crisis Text Line. Mallory previously worked as an Event Coordinator & Fundraising Intern at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and completed their Senior Honors Thesis at Lafayette College. Mallory holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Connecticut School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience & Writing from Lafayette College.

Medical Literacy Initiative

The Medical Literacy Initiative is a physician-led initiative with a mission to increase the accessibility of medical knowledge and research. All of our efforts are rooted in a desire to educate the public about basic health topics. Research has shown that medical literacy is associated with improved health outcomes. We know that having medical knowledge allows people to lead healthier lifestyles and is fundamental in making informed medical decisions.
