Dave Hangen

Dave Hangen has extensive work experience in the field of information security and technology. Dave is currently working as the VP of IT Infrastructure and Chief Information Security Officer at Medical Mutual since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at SafeAuto from 2013 to 2022, holding various roles including Technology and Security Leader, CISO, Interim CIO, and Operations Leader.

Before joining SafeAuto, Dave worked at CBC Companies as a Sr. Security Engineer from 2011 to 2013. Dave also worked at the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System as a Sr. Security Engineer from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, they worked at Wendy's International as a Sr. Security Engineer from 2005 to 2006. Dave started their career at The Ohio State University as a Network Security Engineer from 2003 to 2004 and at Standard Register as a Security Analyst from 2002 to 2003. Finally, Dave worked at Reynolds & Reynolds as a Security Analyst from 1999 to 2002.

Dave Hangen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from The Ohio State University. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. These certifications include the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA, the Payment Card Industry Internal Security Assessor (PCI-ISA) from PCI SSC, the Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP) from PCI SSC, the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council, and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from ISC2. The certifications were obtained in various years ranging from 2005 to 2013.
