Dr. med. Katja Pütter-Ammer has been since the death of her father Dr. Sigurd Pütter was the main shareholder of the company in June 2021 and, together with Dr. Richard Ammer executive chairwoman of the board.

Since 2001, the two have been running the family business in the third generation. Today, the MEDICE Group, with more than 1,000 employees and an annual turnover of over 300 million euros in around 50 markets worldwide, is one of the most successful owner-managed family companies in the German pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Katja Pütter-Ammer was born in Iserlohn in 1967. She is a human medicine specialist with additional training as a “Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Medicine” at the University of Witten-Herdecke. After completing her studies, she worked as a doctor at the University Clinic in Munich and then went on a research stay at Tufts University in Boston, where she also obtained the "Certificate of Studies in Business and Administration" from Harvard University.

In order to prepare for the takeover of the family business, Dr. Pütter-Ammer joined GlaxoSmithKline in 1998, where she acquired additional expertise in the areas of clinical research and product management. Since 2010 Dr. Katja Pütter-Ammer is a member of the “Brands in the Pharmaceutical Market” working group of the Brands Association, in which she also worked on the board for many years.

Miss Dr. Pütter-Ammer also worked for several years as a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen.
