Sherman Hom

Director of Regulatory Affairs at Medicinal Genomics

Sherman Hom has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Sherman currently holds the position of Director of Regulatory Affairs at Medicinal Genomics, a role they began in May 2021. Prior to this, Sherman held the position of Program Manager at the NJ Department of Health and Environmental Laboratories for an impressive period of 20 years, from January 2001 to May 2021. Sherman'searlier experience includes working as a Senior Research Scientist at Henkel Research Corporation from June 1985 to April 1992.

Sherman Hom pursued their education in the field of biology, with a focus on microbiology and molecular biology. Sherman started their educational journey at UC San Diego, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from 1970 to 1975. Following this, they attended the University of California, Davis from 1977 to 1983, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology, Biochemical Genetics & Molecular Microbiology. Later, from 1982 to 1985, they furthered their studies as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at The Johns Hopkins University, specializing in Molecular Microbiology.
