Mario Boccia

Mario Boccia has a diverse background in biomedical engineering and research. Mario is currently working at Medics as a Biomedical Engineer and Subject Matter Expert in Urology, where they are responsible for producing patient-specific 3D models using CT images. These models aid in surgical planning and the intraoperative phase. Prior to this role, Mario completed a traineeship at Medics, where they learned to develop 3D anatomical models for patients with urological diseases.

In 2019, Mario conducted their research thesis for their Master's Degree at the Research Center "E. Piaggio". Their research focused on the application of 4D printing to thermoplastic shape memory polymers, specifically studying the effects of functional grading on their programmable shape.

In 2015, Mario completed their research thesis for their Bachelor's Degree at the same research center. Their thesis involved the design of a new Keratoprosthesis, which included CAD design, FEM analysis, and modeling the interaction between the cornea and the prosthesis.
