Robert Hatkins is currently an Advisor at Medifies, but they have spent most of their career in Business Development and Analytics. Robert started at UCSF Medical Center in July 2001 and became the Manager of Business Development and Analytics in 2006. In this role, they led the business development and analytics team, spearheading all aspects of supply chain management. Robert was responsible for creating lasting supplier relationships, deploying system integrations, and designing custom analytics.
In 2009, they created the Master Data Management function for UCSF. This included building out the ERP system to manage the supply chain for the new hospital. Robert also redesigned the staffing model and workflows for Environmental Services, which allowed UCSF to reduce required cleaning staff by 23%. In addition, they co-developed and implemented a secure Internet-based e-commerce system that currently handles 98% of medical center ordering, receiving, invoicing, and price updates.
Most recently, Robert has been working on web-based search and report applications that deliver actionable analytics during contract negotiations. These tools allow users to quickly access dashboards or tabular reports, assessing usage, trends, price history, cost predictions and much more. These tools are now an essential part of all company processes, from patient billing to benchmarking spending output.
Robert Hatkins has a MA in Instructional Technologies from San Francisco State University and a BA in Liberal Studies from the same school. Robert also has certifications from Cisco in Certified Network Associate and from Microsoft in Certified Systems Engineer.
