Bill Gordon has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in law enforcement, government, and IT. William (Bill) began their career in 2002 as a S/Constable and Manager of Information Technology/Technical Investigations for the Midland Police Service. In this role, they managed the police network, data center, and systems, and provided technical investigative support. In 2018, the service transitioned to the Ontario Provincial Police.
In 2018, Bill joined the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General as a Senior Systems Engineer, supporting specialized and technical initiatives in the Police Portfolio of Justice Technology Services and the Criminal Intelligence Service Of Ontario. William (Bill) worked with various law enforcement agencies across the province.
William (Bill) also worked at MediPharm Labs from 2016, serving as the Director of Information Technology. William (Bill) was responsible for leading the IT team and overseeing system architecture, governance, cyber-security, and technical investigations. Additionally, they played a key role in cloud transformation and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Bill has served as an elected official, starting as a Municipal Councillor for the Town of Midland from 2018 to 2022. William (Bill) then became the Mayor and CEO of Midland Ontario from 2022 to the present. In these roles, they lead a passionate team of councillors, manages responsible growth, and oversees municipal service delivery for the community.
Additionally, Bill has served as a County Councillor for the County of Simcoe since 2022.
