Lead Software Designer Expanse PCS at MEDITECH

Julie Martin has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on software design and clinical informatics development. Julie started their career as a registered nurse at Morton Hospital in 2003 and later worked at Good Samaritan Hospital until 2007. In 2011, Julie joined MEDITECH as a Clinical Informatics Development Analyst, where they played a key role in creating a new Ambulatory Web-based Electronic Health Record. Julie demonstrated clinical expertise by designing nursing workflows and collaborating with the development team. Julie also conducted demonstrations, ran meetings, and conducted site visits for other clinicians. In 2018, they became a member of the web application design committee at MEDITECH, and in 2019, they served as the lead software designer for the Expanse PCS project.

Julie Martin earned an Associate of Science degree in Nursing Science from Rivier University, where they studied from 1992 to 1994. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including "Build Wireframes and Low-Fidelity Prototypes," "Conduct UX Research and Test Early Concepts," "Foundations of User Experience (UX) Design," and "Start the UX Design Process: Empathize, Define, and Ideate," all from Coursera in 2022. Julie also obtained a certification in "Health Informatics in the Cloud" from Coursera in 2013.
