Jen Vasquez has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Jen began their career at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in 2009, where they worked as a Charge Entry Analyst, handling A/R for two insurances and ensuring proper CPT/ICD-9 coding. Jen later moved on to become an Accounts Receivable Analyst, managing A/R for all insurances and providers/specialties in the group. During this time, they also took on additional responsibilities such as reporting payer trends and fee schedule discrepancies. In 2011, Jen cross-trained to learn coding for various specialties, providing coverage as needed for other analysts' charges and A/R. Jen became a Patient Accounts Generalist in 2012, entering charges for different specialists and offices.
In 2015, Jen joined MedKoder, LLC as a Physician Coder III, where they coded for multi-specialty professional services in compliance with applicable guidelines. Jen focused on pediatrics and adult HemOnc, Palliative care, and PMR clinics. Jen then became a Lead Coder, serving as a subject matter expert and point of contact for multiple clients and team members. Jen'sresponsibilities included training, quality auditing, productivity evaluation, and monitoring of multi-specialty work queues. Most recently, they held the role of Manager of Physician Coding Operations, leading the coding operations team.
Throughout their career, Jen has acquired several certifications, including CPC, CDEO, CPMA, CEMC, and CHONC, showcasing their expertise and dedication to the field.
Jen Vasquez, CPC, CDEO, CPMA, CEMC, CHONC began their education at Springfield Technical Community College, where they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in an unspecified field of study in 2001. Jen continued their education and achieved several certifications in the medical coding field. In December 2009, they became a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through the AAPC. Additionally, in the same month and year, they also completed a program in Health/Medical Claims Examination at Branford Hall Career Institute. Over the years, they acquired further certifications, including becoming a Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC) in February 2016, a Certified Hematology and Oncology Coder (CHONC) in April 2017, a Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) in March 2018, and most recently, a Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient (CDEO) in November 2021 from the AAPC.
