Richard Bonforte

Richard Bonforte has a diverse and extensive work experience in the medical field. Richard served as the Medical Director (Pediatrics) at NYCHSRO\\Medreview starting from January 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Clinical Professor, Inter-Professional Education at Phillips School of Nursing at Mount Sinai Beth Israel since July 2014.

Richard has also held various positions at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, including Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center. Richard started at Icahn School of Medicine in 1982 and served as the Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center from March 1985 to June 2012.

From January 1999 to June 2006, Richard worked at Jersey City Medical Center as the Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs and later as the Vice President & Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics. Prior to that, they held the position of Chairman of Pediatrics at Beth Israel Medical Center from July 1981 to January 1999.

Richard began their career in the medical field in 1968, serving as a Major and Pediatrician at Coco Solo Hospital in the US Army Medical Corps and US Army Element at Canal Zone Government. Richard served in this role from July 1968 to June 1970.

Richard Bonforte holds a Bachelor's degree in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies, which they obtained from Seton Hall University from 1957 to 1961. Richard then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) at Georgetown University School of Medicine from 1961 to 1965. In 1987, Richard obtained a certification in the Program for Clinical Chiefs of Service from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Richard has also obtained additional certifications, including the National Board of Medical Examiners in January 1996, and the American Board of Pediatrics in June 1970.
