Dr James Hamilton

Dr. James Hamilton serves as the Vice President of the CUIDA Research Center and Director of the Epigenetics Area at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, focusing on the molecular impact of childhood abuse and evaluating counteractive interventions. With extensive roles in public health, metabolic disease management, and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Hamilton has been an Associate Professor and researcher in the Department of Public Health at Clínica Andes Salud Concepción since 2019, additionally directing a multidisciplinary obesity center. As a seasoned robotic surgery instructor for CMR Surgical and a digestive and bariatric surgeon at Clínica MEDS, Dr. Hamilton founded a minimally invasive and robotic surgery center and led various initiatives in robotic surgery across notable institutions. Dr. Hamilton holds multiple degrees in medicine and specialized training in endoscopy, functional medicine, and various robotic surgical techniques from prestigious educational institutions and training centers.
