Joseph Femia

Joseph Femia has a diverse work experience. Joseph started as a Customer Service Representative at Walgreens in November 2016. From December 2016 to March 2020, they worked as the President of an online commerce business, where they developed and implemented an online buying and selling strategy for niche merchandise. In March 2018, they became a Manager at Junior's Scoop, where they managed an Italian-Ice sales operation and networked to schedule events and increase sales. In September 2017, Joseph served as a Baseball Umpire at the Wesley Chapel Weddington Athletic Association, providing fair and accurate decisions and counseling young players. Starting in July 2020, they worked as a Business System Analyst at Edify Associates Limited and a Data Mapping role at Wells Fargo until March 2021. From March 2021 to February 2023, they worked as a Software Engineer at MedShift. Currently, Joseph holds the position of an Embedded & Data Science Engineer at MedShift, starting in February 2023. Additionally, they worked as an Actuarial Teacher's Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from August 2019 to May 2020, tutoring and mentoring students and grading papers to enhance their understanding of the material. Joseph Femia completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 2018 to 2020. Joseph then pursued further education in the field of Data Science through Nanodegree programs at Udacity in 2020. Joseph obtained a Nanodegree in Data Science, followed by Nanodegrees in Data Analysis and Programming for Data Science with Python. In addition to their academic qualifications, Joseph also obtained certifications in the field of Actuarial Science. Joseph successfully passed the SOA Probability Exam in July 2019 and the SOA Financial Mathematics Exam in April 2019, both administered by the Society of Actuaries.
