Athanasios Thomaides is a highly experienced cardiologist specializing in cardiac electrophysiology, currently serving as the Director of EP Quality and Safety and Associate Program Director for the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Training Program at MedStar Health since July 2015. In addition, Athanasios is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine and has held previous positions as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellow at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Athanasios completed cardiology fellowship training at Temple University Hospital and an internal medicine residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. Athanasios has also engaged in clinical research at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Athanasios earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from UT Health San Antonio in 2006 and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics - Applied Science from UCLA in 2000.
