Allan Shang serves as a Member of the Duke Engineering Alumni Council and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University, with experience there dating back to 2011. As the Inventor, Co-founder, and President of Respirion, LLC, Allan has developed COTru technology for respiratory detection and monitoring. Allan also practices as an Anesthesiologist at MedStream, Inc., co-founded An-Alarm, and was a Faculty member and reviewer at F1000 from 2009 to 2017. Previous roles include Senior Research Scientist and Outreach Program Director at The Fitzpatrick Institute for Photonics, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center, and various committee memberships with professional organizations. Allan holds a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia and multiple degrees in engineering and bioengineering from institutions including the University of Florida and Duke University.
