Robert Hurtz

Robert Hurtz is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in the medical device and technology sectors. Currently serving as Engineering Director at Medtronic since 2025, Robert leads system design and integration within Neuromodulation R&D. Prior roles include Senior Director of Software Development at VERO Biotech, where Robert established critical software processes for a tankless inhaled nitric oxide delivery system, and Director of Product Design & Engineering at Ascensia Diabetes Care, driving advancements in connected diabetes care solutions. Robert’s career includes significant contributions at Bayer HealthCare as Director of Diabetes Care Product Engineering and in various engineering and managerial roles at companies such as Broadcom, AMD, ATI Research, SHARP Laboratories, and Xerox Corporation. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Software Development and Management from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
