Rodney Ballard serves as the Vice President of Research and Development at Medtronic, a position held since March 2004, where responsibilities include directing R&D activities and strategies for the global spine and biologics business within the CST operating unit and managing the development of implants and instrumentation for various disease states and therapies. Prior to Medtronic, Rodney gained experience at Philips as a Development Project Manager and Mechanical System Architect, focusing on consumer electronics from 1998 to 2004, and at Dell as a Senior Product Development Engineer, working on server, storage, and networking equipment from 1996 to 1998. Rodney's career began at Brother International from 1992 to 1996 as a Mechanical Engineer for business and office machine products. Rodney holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Memphis, obtained from 1988 to 1992.
