Esteban Toro

Esteban Toro is an accomplished scientist and leader in the fields of genomics and synthetic biology, currently serving as Vice President of Research and Development at Twist Bioscience since October 2020. Previously, Esteban held several key roles at Twist, including Sr. Director of R&D and Director of Bioinformatics, where responsibilities encompassed development of next-generation sequencing applications, bioinformatics, and data analytics. Esteban co-founded aterio and serves as a member of its board of directors. Prior experience includes leadership in data infrastructure at Memphis Meats and postdoctoral research at prestigious institutions such as UC Berkeley and the University of Pennsylvania. Esteban earned a Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from Stanford University and a B.Sc. in Biology from Universidad de Los Andes.
