Saskia Scheltjens

Saskia Scheltjens is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in cultural heritage and research libraries. Currently serving as a Board Member of the Wetenschappelijke Adviesraad at Musea Brugge and holding the position of Head of the Research Services Department and Chief Librarian at the Rijksmuseum since February 2016, Saskia oversees various aspects of collection information, research data, and digital strategy. Furthermore, involvement includes board memberships at organizations such as Tiele-Stichting, Cultural AI Lab, meemoo, and the Consortium of European Research Libraries, alongside active participation in strategic roles with the Department of Culture, Youth and Media, and the Flanders Arts Institute. Educational qualifications encompass a Master's degree in Information and Library Science from the University of Antwerp and leadership development training from LIBER.
