Derek Parker

Derek Parker is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in facilities and reliability engineering within the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as Facilities Engineering Manager and Site Engineering Lead at MEG Energy Corp. since September 2019, Derek previously held reliability engineering roles at Canadian Natural Resources Limited and Shell. At Shell, Derek progressed through various engineering positions, including Operations Engineer and Engineering Team Lead, contributing to the operations of the Albian mine utilities plant and the Carmon Creek project. Derek's early career includes farming responsibilities at Parker Bros. Farms and operating gas wells at Apache Corporation. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
