Garth Castren started their career as an Intern at GE Energy (Power Systems) in 2001. Garth then joined ExxonMobil in 2003 and held various roles, including Analyst, Senior Analyst, Regional Supply Manager, LNG Business Advisor, Economic Practices Coordinator, Joint Interest Coordinator & Upstream Planning Advisor, Acquisition Advisor (Upstream M&A), and Vice President (Commercial) from 2003 to 2022. In 2022, they joined MEG Energy Corp. as the Director of Commercial & Corporate Planning.

Garth Castren's education history begins in 1997 when they enrolled at Penn State University. Garth graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science with Honors. In 2002, Garth participated in a Semester Exchange Program at Duke University. From 2001 to 2003, Garth attended Dartmouth College, where they obtained a Masters of Engineering Management degree.
