Ziqian (Aylwin) Wei

Ziqian (Aylwin) Wei has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Software Engineer at Autodesk for a year. Ziqian (Aylwin) then joined Panasonic in 2009 as a System Engineer, where they managed projects and solved testing challenges for lighting control systems in buildings.

In 2011, they joined Baidu, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they implemented a centralized AA system for managing log-on permissions on over 70,000 servers. Ziqian (Aylwin) also worked on building a server and resource management platform.

From 2013 to 2017, Ziqian worked at Meituan-Dianping as a Senior Algorithm Engineer and later as a Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead. Ziqian (Aylwin) specialized in LiDAR SLAM and successfully implemented localization and mapping modules for indoor and outdoor robots. Ziqian (Aylwin) also led a team of up to 18 developers and worked on essential backend systems for the e-commerce platform.

In 2019, Ziqian joined Robotics Plus Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer. Ziqian (Aylwin) took charge of the vehicle navigation stack in the unmanned vineyard sprayer project and successfully made the sprayer operate autonomously in orchards. Ziqian (Aylwin) implemented path-planning, localization, and perception algorithms in novel ways to meet the orchard use case.

Most recently, in 2022, Ziqian joined MEGA The Privacy Company as a Senior Software Engineer.

Ziqian (Aylwin) Wei pursued their undergraduate studies at Harbin Institute of Technology from 2005 to 2009. During this period, they completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree with a focus on Software Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, Ziqian (Aylwin) Wei enrolled at Beihang University from 2014 to 2017 to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Finance.
