Teemu Karna

Teemu Karna is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in psychiatry and a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Currently serving as the Leading Expert on DEI at Mehiläinen since September 2023, Teemu has held the position of Medical Director at Psykiatrikonsultaatiot Hilla OY since January 2018. Previous roles include Deputy Chief Physician at Helsinki University Central Hospital, where responsibilities included overseeing the Gender Identity Research Unit and the Cultural Psychiatry outpatient unit, and Consultant Psychiatrist for the City of Helsinki's multi-professional Psychoses rehabilitation team. Teemu began a career in the field as a Specialty Doctor at Cambian Healthcare Limited and holds a Specialist in Psychiatry degree from the University of Helsinki, complementing earlier education with a Licentiate of Medicine from the same institution.
