Mae Elise Cannon has a diverse work experience that spans various organizations and roles. In 1990, they worked as a Manager at Chopp and Company until 2014. Mae Elise also served as a Consultant to the Middle East at Compassion International from November 2010 to May 2011. From 2007 to 2010, they were the Executive Pastor at Hillside Covenant Church, where they co-led the church and managed staff members. At World Vision USA, they held the position of Senior Director Advocacy & Outreach from September 2011 to June 2015. Mae Elise was also the Chair of the Board at The Mosaic Center from June 2008 to November 2010. Mae Elise Cannon worked as an Adjunct Faculty Member at North Park University starting in 2008. Additionally, they were ordained in Word and Sacrament at Evangelical Covenant Church in 2008. In 2015, they became the Chief Advisor on Christian Engagement at MEJDI Tours. Most recently, since August 2016, they have been serving as the Executive Director at Churches for Middle East Peace, where they work to promote a just resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Mae Elise Cannon has a diverse educational background. Mae Elise earned their Bachelor of Arts (AB) degree in History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Science and Medicine from the University of Chicago in the years 1994 to 1998.
In 2001, Mae Elise Cannon attended the Trinity International University, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Bioethics. Additionally, they briefly studied psychology, French, and microbiology at the University of Illinois Chicago in the same year.
Moving forward, Mae Elise Cannon pursued a joint degree program and earned a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from North Park University between 2003 and 2006.
Continuing their education, Mae Elise Cannon enrolled at the University of California, Davis, from 2008 to 2014. During this time, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in History, specializing in the field of History.
Lastly, Mae Elise Cannon extended their knowledge in Spiritual Formation by attending Northern Seminary from 2016 to 2018, where they obtained a Doctorate of Ministry degree.
