Ben Black

Ben Black is the managing partner at Fortinbras Enterprises, a Special Situations focused investment fund. He is a passionate advocate for accelerating the pace of melanoma research to end suffering and death due to the disease.

Prior to founding Fortinbras, he was senior portfolio manager at Knowledge Universe focused on Special Situations and Credit; he was a founding principal at OCV Partners, in which capacity he served as CFO and interim COO at Red Carpet Home Cinema. Mr. Black was previously a private equity associate at Apollo Management and practiced law at Sullivan & Cromwell; he began his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. in Technology, Media & Telecom. Mr. Black is a Director of Phaidon Press, Huddle House, Inc., WeConnect Health, and is a member of the New York Bar.
