Kirsty Hooper has a diverse work history in the fields of arts administration, alumni relations, and community engagement. Starting as the Centre Manager at Gasworks Arts Park in 2004, they later transitioned to a Project Manager role within the same organization. Kirsty then moved onto the University of Melbourne, where they held various positions, including Project Manager and Alumni Relations Manager. Kirsty also served as Deputy Chair and Board Secretary at L2R Next Gen, a not-for-profit organization, before taking on the role of Head of Alumni and Community Relations at Melbourne Grammar School in 2021. Kirsty has demonstrated a strong commitment to strategic planning, governance, and supporting diverse communities through their work experiences.

Kirsty Hooper completed their VCE Certificate at St Catherine's School in 1995 and their Secondary School education at Girton Grammar School in 1991. Kirsty then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of Melbourne from 1996 to 2000. In 2005, Kirsty obtained a Graduate Diploma in Arts Management from RMIT University, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Project Management from Swinburne University of Technology in 2008-2009. Kirsty also spent some time at Trinity College, the University of Melbourne in 1996-1997.
