Julie Miller is a highly experienced academic and practicing surgeon specializing in endocrine surgery, currently serving as a Professor and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne since April 2014. In addition to these roles, Miller has been the Head of Endocrine Surgery at The Royal Melbourne Hospital since July 2001 and has led the Thyroid and Endocrine Tumour Group. Other positions include serving as an Endocrine Surgeon at Epworth Hospital and Melbourne Private Hospital. Miller was Congress President of the Asian Association of Endocrine Surgeons from March 2018 to July 2023 and held the presidency of the Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons from May 2018 to May 2022. Previously, Miller held the role of Sub-Dean of Surgical Education at the University of Melbourne and completed a surgical residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital after obtaining an MD from Washington University School of Medicine and a BA from The University of Texas at Austin.
