Workshop Leader And Musician at Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Sheldon King is a Music Specialist at the University of Melbourne since January 2022, with extensive experience in music composition and education. As a Music Composer for the Moreland City Band since 2010, Sheldon creates original scores and leads rehearsals. Additionally, Sheldon has served as a Workshop Leader and Musician with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra since September 2006, where leadership includes educational workshops for various audiences. Involved with The Songroom since 2006, Sheldon runs creative music projects in Victorian schools. Prior experience includes coordinating workshops for young musicians at Creative Sound Factory Orchestra (2000-2007) and serving as Musical Director for Big State Theatre (1998-2004). Early career involvement includes work as a transcriber and session guitarist at Music Sales (1998-1999). Sheldon holds a Master’s Degree in Music from Bath Spa University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Falmouth University.
