Maha Tahiri is an advisor at MeliBio and the CEO and founder of Nutrition Sustainability Strategies LLC. Maha has over 15 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, with a focus on nutrition and sustainability.
Tahiri started their career as an adjunct professor at the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, where they taught courses on health claims, public-private partnerships, and consumer behavior. Maha then spent six years as the chief health and wellness officer at General Mills, where they led initiatives to improve the healthfulness of the company’s products.
In 2013, Tahiri left General Mills to become the global director of new innovations at Danone. In this role, they were responsible for identifying and developing new products and technologies that would help the company achieve its sustainability goals. After three years at Danone, Tahiri joined The Coca-Cola Company as its nutrition director. In this role, they oversaw the development of new products and worked to improve the nutritional profile of existing products.
Tahiri’s work has been recognized by several organizations, including the World Health Organization and the United Nations. In 2019, they were named one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business for their work on sustainability and nutrition.
Maha Tahiri has a PhD from the Universite d'Auvergne in France, where they also earned their master's and bachelor's degrees. Her areas of study have included human nutrition, physiology, and dietetics.
