Douglas Girgenti, MD has worked in various roles throughout their career. In their most recent role as the Vice President of Drug Development at Melinta Therapeutics, they are responsible for overseeing drug development activities. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Medical Director at Magenta Therapeutics, where they provided medical expertise and guidance. Before their time at Magenta, they served as a Senior Clinical Program Leader in Immunology at Boehringer Ingelheim, contributing to the development of immunology programs. Douglas also worked as a Clinical Program Lead in various therapeutic areas including Vaccines, Renal, Ophthalmology, and Rare Diseases at Pfizer. Earlier in their career, they held positions at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, ARC of Rockland, Continuum Medical Group, and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where they gained experience in clinical program leadership, medical direction, and genetic and oncogene research.
Dr. Douglas Girgenti received their Bachelor's degree in Genetics and Microbiology from Cornell University in 1989. Douglas continued their education at Stony Brook University, where they completed their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 1994.
