Enzyme Engineering Scientist at Mellizyme Biotechnology

Jeremy Ramsden is currently a Scientist - Enzyme Engineering at Epoch Biodesign since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at EnzBond Limited as a Principal Scientist and Research Scientist from 2020 to 2021. From 2016 to 2020, they worked at Manchester Institute of Biotechnology as a Postgraduate Research Student, where they completed their PhD under the supervision of Professor Nicholas Turner FRS. TheirPhD was focused on the development of imine reductase enzymes capable of performing reductive amination reactions, and their application towards challenges in synthetic chemistry. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Manchester from 2016 to 2019. In 2019, they also spent 3 months working as part of the Catalysis, Continuous and Applied Technologies team at AstraZeneca Macclesfield, where they applied the biocatalytic methods they had developed through their PhD in an industrial environment.

Jeremy Ramsden attended Bradford Grammar School for their high school education. Jeremy then went on to The University of Manchester, where they completed a Master's Degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry in 2016.
