Julia Ryan is an accomplished leader in strategic initiatives and community development with extensive experience in nonprofit management. Currently serving as the Director of Program Strategic Initiatives at the Mellon Foundation, Julia collaborates closely with senior leadership to enhance grantmaking efforts aimed at promoting social equity. Previously, Julia held key roles at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), culminating in service as Senior Advisor to the President and Vice President of Health Initiatives. Key contributions include spearheading a $10 billion commitment to community health and wellness, developing national strategies for crime prevention, and managing programs that improved economic and health equity across diverse urban and rural areas. Julia earned a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Middlebury College.
