Martha Scott Burton is a manager of presidential special projects and research in the Office of the President. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Burton held curatorial and research positions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Morgan Library & Museum, the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, and The Studio Museum in Harlem. She has also supported the production of a number of academic publications and exhibition catalogues. Ms. Burton holds an MA in art history from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA in art history (magna cum laude) from Columbia University, where her research focused on the politics of identity in modern and contemporary art, histories of photography, and legacies of colonialism.
