Nnamudi Amobi

Grants Manager at Mellon Foundation

Nnamudi Amobi joined the Foundation in June 2021 and serves as a grants manager. Prior to Mellon, Mr. Amobi served as the grant manager and contracts administrator for the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC) which was created in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, to ensure that Lower Manhattan recovered from the attacks and emerged stronger than before. At the LMDC, he managed grants with various private and public agencies for projects ranging from community development initiatives dedicated to low-income communities to upgrading outdated government systems. He also helped administer LMDC's executed grantee, consultant, and vendor agreements.

In addition to his work at the LMDC, Mr. Amobi has also acted in various film, television, and off-off-Broadway productions. Notable credits include Sex and the City 2, Law and Order SVU, Blue Bloods, and Bull.

Mr. Amobi received a JD from the University of Massachusetts School of Law at Dartmouth. He earned his BA in English language and literature from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
